HBIQ Sports is a company that believes in helping one achieve their goals. We offer a comprehensive in-depth training program that focuses on individual development. We want to see players reach their full potential both on and off the ice

Matt Stang


is the Owner and Operator of HBIQ Sports which was created to give players a full 360 development model to improve their individual hockey development both on and off the ice. Matt is a  former professional hockey player who since retiring from the game has devoted his time now giving back to the game that has given him so much.           


Matt has worked as a coach, scout, and in player development roles for the past 7 years at the WHL, Junior A, and minor hockey levels. Since returning home to Prince George he has taken on roles with PGMHA, while still scouting in the WHL and providing private skill and video analysis/development.


Steve O’Rourke


Steve was drafted by the New York Islanders, played professionally for 7 seasons. As a coach, Steve has been a  part of a memorial cup, gold medal with Team BC in the WHL Cup, and has run his own skating and skills company for over 10 years. The last 14 years he coached in the WHL for 7 seasons, 2 years AHL (Calgary Flames farm team), 1-year BCHL, 4 years CSSHL, has led Team BC 2 times as well as coached with Hockey Canada U17 and is currently a Player Development coach in the WHL and Head coach of a minor hockey association.



Eric Gailbraith


Completed all four required CFP courses and is currently working towards receiving CFP designation.

Successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).

Finished my collegiate hockey career with the Mount Royal Cougars in 2014. Helped lead the team to an ACAC championship in 2011.

Competed in the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning Case Challenge
