WHAT TO EXPECT?

HBIQ Sports is a 8-week on-ice power skating and skills program consisting of 90 min of On-Ice and 90 min of off-ice instruction. After each day, each athlete will be emailed reference game clips that will show the many spots where they could use the skills learned from that day.   

 

The purpose for 8 weeks is that it takes time and multiple reps to build on good habits, change bad habits or create new ones             

THE WORK

There will be 2 weeks of power skating focusing on the foundation of edges, stopping, turning, crossovers, and sculling. This will lead to the
use of these foundations in game-related skills. There will be 3 weeks of skill development focusing on shooting (quick release, shooting in stride, angle change, and deception), puck handling, rush, and offensive zone concepts in order to create space and time on the ice. 1 week of shooting with a NHL Shooting coach

Results

The final week will have a split between practice drills and small area games to work on the newly learned
elements under pressure so that the player prepares to be ready to perform in the moment of truth on the ice. Off-ice we will be working with individuals to increase their strength, mobility, flexibility, and mindset to allow themselves to be at peak performance when competing and training during the season.
